Departments

Paul Scherer & Company LLP is divided into three professional departments: Audit, Tax, and Information Technology.  These groups work closely with one another to enhance the Firm’s effectiveness.

AUDIT
The Audit Department is staffed with seasoned professionals and motivated newcomers who work in teams to best serve our clients.  Among the services provided by the Audit group are:

  •  Performing certified audits of small, medium and large businesses

  • Documenting and testing systems of accounting controls

  • Making recommendations for improvements in accounting procedures

TAX
The Tax Department is made up of accounting professionals who specialize in taxation and its effect on business structure and transactions.  Among the services provided by the Tax Department are:

  •  Providing advice about the tax consequences of business transactions

  • Identifying tax savings and planning opportunities

  • Conducting tax examinations

  • Preparing and reviewing tax returns

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The IT group specializes in computerized audit tools.  Among the services provided by the IT group are:

  • Providing software training and hardware support for internal departments

  • Writing programs to assist with audit efforts

  • Reviewing systems and providing purchase recommendations to clients

  • Performing security and control reviews for clients
